Dr. Sultana and Dr. Attaman have worked closely together since they entered the same residency class in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Michigan in 2002. Dr. Attaman and Dr. Sultana are now proud to be business partners.
Dr. Sultana was born near Detroit, Michigan. He is a graduate of Wayne Sate University School of Medicine. His Internship was completed at Hurley Medical Center in Michigan. He is residency trained and board certified in the specialty of Physical Medicine from the University of Michigan. Dr. Sultana served as an Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The University of Toledo in Ohio where he was given a Research Award for his research; “What does the patient with back pain want? A comparison of patient expectations and physician assumptions.”
Dr. Sultanas’ passion for healing has led him to specialize in diagnosis and treatment of Acute and Chronic Musculoskeletal Disorders, Back and Neck pain, Shoulder, Hip, Knee and Foot Pain and Neuropathic pain. Dr. Sultana also has extensive training and knowledge in the rehabilitation of disabling conditions such as Stroke, Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, Amputee, Neuromuscular Disease and Spasticity Management (Physical Therapy, Medication, Botox, Neurolysis) with his main focus on improving the quality of life and function for the patient.
Dr. Sultana is specialized in electrodiagnosis (EMG) and treatment of peripheral mononeuropathy, polyneuropathy, radiculopathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar mononeuropathy and plexopathy.
Dr. Sultanas’ greatest joy is to educate. He works one on one with many physical and occupational therapists. He has taught and trained them in a wide range of pain therapies and treatments ranging from complex regional pain syndrome, spinal cord injury, osteoarthritis, management of traumatic brain injury, postoperative management of amputees/phantom limb pain, shoulder anatomy, low back pain and the injured worker.
Dr. Sultana currently serves as Medical Director for Rehab Without Walls and Gentiva Home Health, as well as Rehabilitation Director for several Subacute Rehabilitation Facilities in the Puget Sound area, where he focuses his advanced knowledge and training on treating patients as a whole, not just treating a symptom. His goal is to provide each patient he treats as an individual giving them the best quality of life they possibly can have within their disability or injury. Dr. Sultana is committed to curing diseases, patient care and over all well-being.
